- Practically all of them would work, I believe. Certainly the well known
- brands, such as US Robotics, Supra, Global Village, Microtech,
- PSI/Postman, etc. Most Western and Northern European phone systems are
- very good indeed. Some Southern and Eastern varieties can be troublesome.

- The main practical problem you will come across is probably the physical
- wall jacks, which vary from country to country, although more and more are
- now standardizing on the RJ-45 type plug used in the US. But, e.g., the
- English have their own variety. So get a phone cord or a converter set to
- match your destination. Also, remember the power voltage in Europe is at
- 220-240V, NOT at 110! So get an adapter that handles that.

- Any ol' software. You may need to adjust the setting for "Wait for
- dialtone", or change it into "Ignore dialtone" (change the X4 in most
- modem INIT strings -> X3, for instance) in some countries with odd
- dialtones or busy signals.
